Is this based on history?

No. “Lost in the Vale” (and the larger world / history around it) is completely fictional, based on original ideas we have developed over several years.

It’s not an ‘alternate history’ story, nor is it meant to represent any actual global region or historical period on Earth. The story and the setting visually and conceptually reference medieval Europe, but Andalusia isn’t meant to be Europe, Espinosa isn’t a renamed Spain, nor are any of the characters or places meant to be analogues for historical people or places.

Any similarities between the kingdoms, the history, the people, any names, etc. and anything / anyone real is purely coincidental. (Honestly, I’m not a big enough history buff to base an entire story on it anyway. -Alan)
